Biography
I was born with a condition called hydrocephalus. During an operation to correct said condition when I was nine days old, I had a stroke. It hasn't really affected me in any way other than physically (I have a slight limp and find it difficult to use my left hand), but I suppose casting officials should be aware of that flaw. It has taught me a great deal about myself, so I'm thankful for it.
I've grown up in a small town in south eastern Kentucky where being different from one's peers may as well be a death sentence- be it for reasons of race, sexuality, or religion. I've always hated that, and think it's important that I follow my dreams regardless of the cost, because so many people I see around me every day will never realize that there is a world outside of what they know.
I found my passion for acting early on in life and began participating in local events (though I am not close enough to any "major" city to do a lot, admittedly) with schools, churches, and the like. I was lucky enough to study drama at Kentucky's prestigious Governor's Scholars Program in the summer of 2008 for five weeks, which has proven to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It truly proved to me that I was going down the right path with things, and I've since solidified plans to further study theatre upon my graduation from high school.
Personal interests
I've done improv for speech and drama teams the duration of my high school career (I'm graduating in May), as well as dramatic productions as mentioned previously. I'm an avid reader and writer who will give anything a chance, quite honestly, and I love being around new things and new people.
Entertainment Goals
I'm open to opportunities on film (and television) and onstage, but above all, I aspire to touch the lives of others. Fame and fortune, of course, is lovely, but at what cost? I want to make people smile. I want to be an inspiration to people who otherwise may have had no faith in his or herself. I want to be the one to step out of the crowd, take charge, and say "hey- I CAN do this." I think Mary Poppins said it best, really- anything can happen if you let it.
Hey! I'm Nate! What's up? You should check my video in the "multimedia files" section! It's right under my main picture, simple to find, and it's a blast! I'm just going around and expanding my network. Hope to hear from you soon. Bye!
